On their own no, but like every animal they poop and snake shit is really high in ammonia
For what it’s worth. , my coworker had one and his room didn’t smell. I assume it’s like owning any other in house pet where you just need to regularly clean their cage/tank

When well taken care of, no they dont. People suck, however, and lack of proper care can produce some really foul smelling enclosures
