“There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.”
I read that he had to change it up on the fly because he didn’t want someone to have a clip of him saying “shame on me”. If that’s true it wasn’t a terrible move. Just not very graceful.
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice the shame is still on you i’m a fucking fish
“There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again.”
― George W. Bush
Such wise words
I read that he had to change it up on the fly because he didn’t want someone to have a clip of him saying “shame on me”. If that’s true it wasn’t a terrible move. Just not very graceful.
fool me once, shame on you, but teach a man to fool me, and i’ll be fooled the rest of my life
“You fool me once you ain’t gonna be fooling me again”

You know I’ve always seen that as less him fucking up the saying and more him deciding to use that opportunity for a veiled threat.
Like “fool me twice shame on- fuck that I ain’t getting fooled again”
Don’t cry
I am just a fish
