Western corporatocracies need to learn a lot from China.
Politicians are in bed with the tech giants with lobbying and fine them minuscule amounts when they draw in bad press. China is well, China.
I think there should be a middle ground to fueling innovations/competition without excessive government control while not making them too large to fail like in the west.
I don’t see how China’s government control is in any way excessive. The government steps in when companies start doing things that are harmful to society at large, and that’s precisely when I’d want the government to step in.
The whole internet is hidden behind a great firewall.
Which is precisely what allowed local industry to develop without being choked out by large US companies. The only countries that have anything comparable to companies like Google today are Russia and China. The other benefit was shutting out US propaganda.
