Even though gnome calendar is not very mobile friendly, there are a lot of merge requests that optimize it for small screens, e.g. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-calendar/-/merge_requests/185
Thus, I think the situation will improve over time and will be already better with Gnome 42.
