Hi, recently I’ve been diving in to the fediverse. I’m dreaming of having thriving local communities that federate with the rest of the world.
For this you need to be able to see local content only. It is possible to see local posts only, but afaik it’s not possible to see a list of local communities only.
Am I correct with this assumption or is there some option I’m missing? How do others feel about this feature?
Welcome to Lemmy! We have an open issue for this in lemmy-ui (filter community list by local/remote), I dont think @dessalines@lemmy.ml started to work on it yet. If you’re interested to contribute, that should be a pretty easy task to get started.

I was already digging around in the code, but I got stuck really soon (not too familiar with typescript). If I find the motivation I’ll give it another go this weekend.

I was just looking for a button to do this. I think you’re right, there’s no way to do this, but I would second this feature, and generally improving the communities page to add more filters as well.
