Is anyone using deck as PC ? Opening Firefox seems very detrimental. Running top shows CPU uses almost/beyond 100%. Generally for 2 processes Firefox and Isolated Web Co. Is there some kind of workaround? Or would it be better to just install normal Linux (instead of SteamOS)?

Ive been using it at my main terminal with an external monitor for some time now.

Are you saying Firefox is using 100% CPU constantly? Any other issues? More details as to what is happening would help.

Yes Firefox is definitely CPU intensive, please let me know what further details are needed. I only ran top when I noticed unresponsiveness

Thanks, it looks like only related to my use case. Going to try closing tabs (4 open) and disabling extensions.

I use my steam deck for work sometimes.

I log in my work site, export order lists to office cal, import them to my vendor sitesostly.

I have had no problem running MS Edge (sincey logins), Office Libre works fine, mouse, keyboard, and second monitor work fine with no slowdown for me.

The only thing I can’t get working is printing otherwise I can scrap my older office PC

That shouldn’t be happening. I use mine as a desktop all the time, Firefox is pretty snappy, with a whole bunch of tabs open and extensions. Sorry I can’t give much more insight into what’s happening, but it’s definitely not right.

Looks like a extension JShelter is very CPU intensive. Removing that feels so much better
