    Okay, I never want to see someone saying “The UK has freedom to protest unlike insert hated country!” ever again. A strike is literally the most peaceful form of protest, the whole point is you do nothing because you’re upset, doesn’t get more peaceful than that, and they sent in the fucking army. Just imagine how much the UK would be screeching if this was reported in China or Russia.

      The bourgeois governments of the West have been repressing Socialist and workers’ movements for over a century. Only now they have resorted to open military force, rather than using secret police. (FBI, MI6, etc.)

        Nah, they’ve been doing that since forever. Cold war, Vietnam war, Korean war, destruction of the Paris commune, etc etc etc.
