    Honestly, this isn’t even that uncommon in the west. If you work in the tech sector here then overtime is pretty much expected, and it’s typically unpaid.

      Japan too. If you leave anywhere even close to the time specified by your contract then you might as well be leaving to work at the puppy slaughterhouse in the eyes of your coworkers. Also unpaid of course, since according yo your contract, you’re not on the clock anymore and it was your choice to stay. Truly a capitalist’s dream, where the wage slaves keep themselves in line because you’ve successfully programmed them to think this is the best way to live.

        Yeah, there’s a lot of conditioning happening from the young age. The whole hustle culture was basically invented to get the proles police themselves.
