    I feel like you only really get the “liminal” effect from those when you grew up in the US. To me it just seems depressing tbh

      I don’t think so. The car centric elements aren’t great but Chicago is actually better than the average North American city. Other than that, I just see old city vibes which I’m personally a fan of, actually reminds me of my hometown in China somewhat.
