I’ve got very little lemmy experience in general, so this is a bit of an experiment for me.

The experiment is about sharing parenting experiences, and discuss how to survive and enjoy parenting while getting better at it.

It’s also about managing partnerships that may have caused parenting and/or are impacted by it.

Let’s discuss our problems, solutions, and breakdowns.

Parenting has been easily the most intense relationship I’ve had. It’s enjoyable and fu**ing stressful. I wouldn’t want to miss it yet I’d love it to be easier…

Can we work towards this?

Parents of lemmy, unite!

I think any opinion shared in an open minded, respectful way is fine. Just had my first parent / kinder teacher session and I think it’s good to share both parent and educator perspectives

We all can agree on that :) Good collaboration between teacher/educator is really important. If these two people can’t freely talk about what they think is best for the human they both got responsibility for, it probably won’t bring great results. Parent can have opinions about teacher work based on watching other educators and vice versa. Giving feedback and receiving it is o so great. Only though if other person won’t view it as personal attack.

Btw. how did it went? :)

Yeah, it’s a sensitive topic I guess, so if the other person feels attacked, I guess let’s just give that person space… maybe the feedback will be appreciated another time.

Anyway, the first parent session was pretty good. It was good to hear that some of the character he shows at home was also seen in Kindergarten. This confirmed for us that he feels comfortable there. It was also nice to see the passion the teachers in this Kindergarten have for their teaching approach and the kids in general.

Pretty happy with it all :)

I agree. Just remember it goes both ways.

That’s great to hear! I hope he will grow to be a great human :)
