Cool. Any comparisons with the Candlelight Revolution are premature, especially with regards to the South Korea-US relationship. Polls have shown for years that the South Korean public strongly supports the South Korea-US relationship. This looks to be more about Yoon Suk-yeol’s personal poor approval rating. It’s also much smaller than the Candlelight Revolution, with 1% of the SK population claimed as turnout.
opinion of the US has been declining in recent years, especially with young people https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2020/12/02/the-us-is-no-longer-a-more-developed-country-than-us-442407
The public as a whole disapproves of Trump and his ilk, not of the United States as a whole. As you’ll note, that article is dated just before the handover of power to Biden.
Things have only gotten worse under Biden. People around the world are waking up to the fact that the entire US system is broken and it doesn’t matter which stooge is at the steering wheel of it.
Regardless, South Koreans view the US and Biden much more positively than Trump.

70% currently are confident in Biden.
17% were confident in Trump in 2020 during his last term.
That survey is taken before the war. That was before the western economic bloc started imploding and US started screwing Korea over. CHIPS act will cut Korea from their biggest chip market, while domestic EV subsidies cut Korea out of EV market in US. Pretty sure that isn’t making Biden popular I’m Korea right now.
