    Does the EU really only want to ban new cars with fossil fuels? It would be so great if eco-fuels were given a chance! I can see from my garden tools what a difference eco/alkaline petrol makes. Yes, the price makes a difference as well - but only at the moment.

      As the article puts it:

      carmakers must achieve a 100% cut in CO2 emissions by 2035

      They are not instructed as to how to get there. If something besides electric turns out to be viable, well then go for it.
