Thanks for all your podcasts, I’ve really enjoyed the updates. Mobile Linux seems to be in a promising but also precarious position right now. I would be interested to hear you guys (the only industry veterans?) comment on the sustainability of the current efforts in a podcast episode. I’m not so much thinking environmental here (although that is also important), but more sustainability with regards to developer time, finances, bitrot, and usability outcomes for different devices. I tend to agree with Purism’s position (paraphrased): it’s not possible to develop fast enough to create usable phones from spare-time development. I have great respect for the pmOS developers that somehow manage to have (combinations of) full-time jobs, families and still contribute as much they do to the community. I wondered if pmOS had ever considered crowd-funding to maybe turn some of those developers into full-time paid developers? or similarly, offering support packages for a couple of chosen phone models?
