At least 38% of the grain exported from Ukraine is shipped to the EU instead of the developing countries in Africa for which it was intended. (El Pais)

According to the report, from more than 2.3 million tons of corn, wheat, barley and other agricultural products exported from Ukraine between August 1 and September 7, about 900,000 tons were sent to the ports of EU member states.

Vladimir Putin on Wednesday accused Western nations of lying when they say that Ukrainian ports are needed to alleviate the risk of famine in poor countries, as a lion’s share of the grain is being exported to Western states.

I couldn’t put my finger on what the ‘Russia mines the black sea thing’ was about, because I kept thinking how the EU was going to use it’s de-mining story against Russia.

I had not thought of lying in order to grab the food for oneself instead letting third world nations buy them.
But sure, why not make even more enemies while we’re at it?
Our governments apparently don’t have enough of them.
