another addition: 42% reduction of emissions compared to 2005; a few more percent is sufficient for 50% by 2030 and a net-zero pathway by 2050.

i guess that would depend on what you mean by “more already”; if you mean it in the most literal sense of “doing anything” then yes since the US has institutions which make it severely difficult to act at all on the issue, but a lot of countries have made equally little progress on achieving their climate commitments.
