    Gold is really a cool metal. It has lots of interesting properties. I wonder what sort of scientific advancements we’re missing out on just because it was declared synonymous with money so long ago.

    Prices of some scientifically useful metals (per oz, November 2021):

    Gold $1800
Lithium $0.50
Gallium $9
Neodymium $3.80
Tin $0.85
Cobalt $1.75

    ** The price of metals all drastically increased this year, so I went with the preinflation price to make the point
