our install went public few days ago; https://szmer.info/ with very limited promotion for now, looking to get some core users before I start running the streets with a board about it.

Great!

just starting, still testing, but about to go live for a group of early adopters. I find lack of open graph the biggest problem, followed by lack of private communities, but a friend is looking into that. otherwise I’m quite hyped xD

Glad you like it! We have an open issue for open graph, contributions are welcome. Regarding private communities, we plan to work on that after we release federation.

yeah, I know, went through the issues, and will have to check with said friend if he’s going to take it up (just a louse offer from him, but I know he did check on the code)

My plan is to start one up as soon as the federation is in a place where I can use it like I use my (approximately) single-user Mastodon instance. (So I’m going to follow this community to hope to learn from others’ experiences!)

I’ve installed my own instance with Ansible. Went very well. I’m planning to use this instance to play around, and to help testing Lemmy federation.

If you like to help testing Lemmy federation via my test Lemmy install, please let me know in a private message.

We dont have a test plan or anything like that, but maybe you would be interested to write that? Do you have a Matrix account so we could discuss this?

Thanks for the suggestion. At the moment this is not feasible for me to do due to lack of time for it. Maybe in a few months time it is possible. Having said that, I have been a bit hesitant to share the web-link for my own Lemmy test server for anyone to register, but people who are eager to help testing can ask me for the web-link to register.
