I’m thinking about getting a weapon for self-defense; but guns require ear protection, ammo, and they have a lot of legal complexity; I’m thinking about using spears and quick-to-use ranged weapons (blowdarts, throwing knives, or bows and arrows).

However, self-defense laws are complex and I feel like if I mess up one of them, I’ll get fucked. I’d rather leave the country, but I’m lazy and really don’t feel like touching the capitalist system.

My memory is also not great when stressed.

  • It really depends on your locality. What’s defined as self defense in one place won’t be the same in another.

A good rule of thumb is to always run if you can instead. Don’t instigate stuff, and don’t EVER speak to police without legal council (they are not there to exonerate you, no matter how friendly they might seem).

Depends where you live. For now I’d focus on learning the laws of the state you live in and any state that you travel to often.
