Hey devs. Thanks for all your hard work on this. I’m not sure if I’m missing something, but it seems like all communities and posts are available to the public regardless of weather you are signed in or not. Is this by design?
I was planning on using Lemmy as a local community hub for my neighborhood, sort of like nextdoor but without the privacy nighmare of a centralized service. However this application would obly work if only signed in users could see community posts.
Let me know if I’m missing something.
Also, here is a picture of my cat riding a mortorcycle, because…why not?
Its not by design, we just didnt have time to implement it yet. At the moment we are working on federation, which is a ton of work. But we will most likely implement this at some point.
And welcome to Lemmy!
Thanks for the quick response!
We have two tickets for this, but haven’t started either yet, one is community privacy settings, IE invite only communities, and the other is an invite-only system for your entire lemmy instance.
