Playing AAA games on my x250 thanks to Steam Link! With decent internet it works really well.

@sam if you want a more general purpose tool, I’ve been using moonlight and sunshine - it’s an open source implementation which has been giving me much better image quality when streaming from my desktop

Moonlight is great, not heard of Sunshine, will have to check it out! Since I had my kids, the only time I get to game is either in bed or when I’m pooping. Got an AliExpress controller that essentially turns my phone into a Switch, worked out the box with both Steam Link and Moonlight! Best shits ever.

          Sorry, had notifications off!

Search AliExpress or Amazon for Bluetooth phone controller and the one I have is this one:

I also picked up an Ipega 9083S for my Android tablet the other day and that’s actually great. 11” 2K switch for £28 haha.

I’m not sure, but it looks like the Stadia controller…

Edit: sorry, no it’s not the Stadia controller. My bad

If you’re referring to OP’s picture, that would be the gulikit kingkong 2 pro controller

I was replying to a comment mentioning an AliExpress controller

We have a physical Steam Link (and a Steam controller) that we bought way back when Steam Link was fairly new. Now an Android TV that has the Steam Link app which is also pretty nifty. But since discovering Moonlight and Sunshine, we’ve been using that exclusively because it runs so much smoother.

I’ve heard of moonlight, the only reason I went with Steam Link is that it was dead simple. Better image quality is definitely tempting, I’ll give moonlight a try soon!

Nice! I am liking your GuliKit controller - I use the KingKong 2 Pro often and it’s great.

I’m thinking of getting one but I don’t like the Xbox One form factor think it looks kinda ugly and probably doesn’t feel good

How’s it feel to hold compared to a steam controller/deck/ps5 controller?

I think the Xbox form factor is fine. I’ve used DualShock 3 and 4 a lot, also Joycons and Steam Deck, but I don’t mind the different layout. The ergonomics are good. Better than Joycons and maybe even the DualShock. I haven’t used DualSense though. The Steam Deck is superior for me, because I always use the right track pad, since it’s much better for controlling the view than a joystick is. Maybe I’ll try to get a Steam Controller sometime, but till then I am completely satisfied with KingKong 2 Pro.

I preferred Xbox form factor over the Dualshock 3 and 4, but Dualsense is just next level in terms of ergonomics. I am not sure if its just me, but it feels molded to my hands and presses into my palms in all the right places. I just wish it had an easily replaceable battery pack. I miss the AA batteries the Xbox controllers used.

Steam controller is great for that, I love it but the build quality doesn’t feel good, it’s quite light and plastic-ey

If you like the track pads on the deck the ones on the sc are very similar you’ll probably like those too. The joystick on the sc isn’t the best though and it doesn’t have a right stick so kinda sucks for games designed for twin stick

I expected that, so I don’t rush to buy it and use either Deck or the GuliKit, which is great.

Do you use it wirelessly? If so how’s the latency/range? Also how loud are the buttons/sticks? Are they dampened?

I use it wirelessly with my Linux PC and Nintendo Switch. The latency is completely fine - I don’t have any problems with it. Yes, the buttons are dampened, the loudness never bothered me. Overall, I am satisfied with my choice.

Steam Link is great to steam your Gaming PC to where you want to play you games. I use it with my Nvidia Shield to play games in my bedroom.

I absolutely love the Steam Link. I don’t use it quite as much as I did before I picked up my Steam Deck, but it’s the perfect way to play games on the TV with my wife when we aren’t a console household. They also still ship updates for it despite not actually manufacturing it anymore. Really incredible little box.

it’s the GuliKit king kong pro 2
great controller, has hall effect joysticks (so no stick drift), a gyroscope, and swap-able face buttons (xbox or switch layout)
