I have for a while been in a loop of getting on track, facing a small issue, and retreating from too many responsibilities. I think i need to hear some pretty “low level” (idk) advice, how do you pick up the pieces and keep going? How do you cope with feeling like you’re constantly catching up, feelings of inadequacy, feelings of guilt for not meeting expectations in the past?

What helped me was medication. I have generalized anxiety, and I really think that the physical symptoms were driving a lot of the mental stuff. A kind of biofeedback. Medication has pretty well blunted the physical sensations of anxiety and I find it easier to change my mindset without that constant physical reminder that “hey, don’t forget to worry!”

It can take a few tries to find the right one, so don’t give up if the first (or even second) doesn’t work for you. Same with therapists.
