As CNBC reports, up to 15,000 scientists working at the institutions will get access to OpenAI’s latest o1 series of AI models
It’s literally just a bunch of enterprise subscriptions. Big nothingburger, but can create these silly headlines that make it seem like OpenAI does anything at all.
It does look like it’s just a way to funnel money to OpenAI.
Yup. Just another government handout. Typical lazy socialist corporations.
Not two hours ago, I was chatting with someone about the news conference talking about nuclear power, coal ("can’t be destroyed!”) for AI, and said it was for TIA.
Total bullshit…just funneling money into OpenAI to keep it propped up with the least convincing cover story possible
yeah that’s exactly what’s happening here
Well, that’s reassuring. Shitty hallucinating AI and atomic junk. What can go wrong…
sam altman with pupils the size of plates prophesying agi killing us all
well yes no shit sam if you give it to the nuke people im sure even an LLM can oneshot everyone
What is the benefit of this exactly?
For the military, I’m sure this is a cost-cutting measure. I’m guessing they get to fire some people And make the rest of them work double time, but with AI assisting them.
For the working people, it’s another argument that you can point to to get people radicalized :D
sure this is a cost-cutting measure
I’m so tired of hearing this. We’re going to annihilate the human race to cut costs
Welcome to capitalism! 🤣
To the median human being? Nothing.
This is probably just the payment for the tech industry rallying behind Trump while the Dems aggressively shot themselves in the foot.
the Dems aggressively shot themselves in the foot.
I think this needs more adverbs.
No thanks, I’d rather entrust the security of the end of civilization to floppy discs.
