Donald Trump had asked the Supreme Court to delay TikTok’s ban-or-sale law to give him an opportunity to act once he returns to the White House.

This really is a hot turd no one wants to deal with, isn’t it? The current administration has stated they won’t enforce the law, which kicks it off to the Trump camp. It’s fun watching this shit fish swim up the legal channels of our “democracy” as the rest of our dear leaders cower over who has to actually eat it.

Several justices from across the ideological spectrum also emphasized that foreign entities do not have First Amendment rights and that the site could continue to operate in a similar manner but under different, non-Chinese ownership.

Such a wide spectrum of thought, wouldn’t you say Karl ol’ pal?

that last part kinda lays bare how material influence matters more than any notions of fReE sPeEcH because real control is exerted via the platform and its material dependencies, not the law

The American ruling class’ ideological spectrum is just a line segment ranging from “We love cheap labour more than we hate POC” to “We hate POC more than we love cheap labour”.
