Folks, the internet guys - they’re very smart guys, the best - they come to me, and they say, - sir, - sir - we’ve got a problem. The internet border - it’s wide open. China’s coming through the routers, the cables, the tubes - however the cyber works, folks - and they’re bringing TikTok, Red Note, and probably spyware disguised as a cat video. And I said, So we’re building a wall, a big, beautiful internet wall. A little thing called Border. Gateway. Protocol. OK? The routers are gonna be so strong, folks. Tremendous routers. Apparently Biden’s routers were advertising routes to the Chinese. No more advertisement budget folks, it’s being cut. What a waste, honestly - unbelievable, the government has gone crazy.
It’s been a while since I’ve fucked with BGP personally, but there is a part of me cackling over the idea of the US banning setting up BGP routes with Chinese entities only for them to discover that the direct routes between the two didn’t matter anyway given that they’re on literal opposite sides of the planet as far as internet cables are concerned and that all the intermediate routes still exist so nothing changed at all and you can still easily connect to Chinese servers.
