    It’s the fact that they mention both groceries, a thing you need and cannot easily do without, and vacations, a thing of pure luxury that you can easily do without. It sounds like they either think vacations are a basic survival need or that groceries really aren’t that vital.

      I would argue that vacations are necessary for mental health in an increasingly hellish world. Vacations don’t need to mean taking an airplane to a tropical island - it can be a $30/night camping trip.

        While, yes, vacations are critical for sanity, the disconnect here comes from the yawning gap on where these things lie on the heirarchy of needs.
