I am guessing that this charade is being orchestrated by the Chaebols or whatever theyre called in order to stall until Trump takes office in the US. It’ll be a nice manufactured win for him to take office and step in, and “fix” this right away. And it’ll get samsung and others big brownie points with the new admin for helping him look good. Which they need as they probably want a piece of the domestic US chip manufacturing pie that is being pushed hard right now.
