When I use my GPS app or I want to use my Bluetooth headphones I need to turn on those services, but only in those scenarios, once I’m done using them I don’t want them to be always on, is there a way to automatically turn them off is they are not being used?
I tried Tasker but the “Turn off Bluetooth if not being used” profile wasn’t working at all.
@Xirup
Under #LineageOS you can set this in the system profiles.
There you can, for example, specify that Bluetooth and GPS are deactivated when your headphones are disconnected.How do I activate it? I don’t see it on my lineageos
@Scolding7300
Settings - System - System profilesAh I see, I was hoping to see “no devices for X minutes -> disconnect” trigger, but I guess I couod setup a no bluetooh profile with triggers on disconnect of each paired device that I have.
Thanks
The Quick Settings toggles are the simplest option.
Bluetooth and WiFi have an auto off feature. It’s at least built into GrapheneOS, not sure about other variants
i use the GOS bluetooth autooff timer all the time, its great, increases battery life too
Macrodroid, Automate, Tasker.
But why turn them off?
Tracking can and is done with both by 3rd parties.
Not the best link, but Schiphol airport as a public example.
Battery life and privacy
And security
Really has virtually no battery life impact (this from 15 years of testing many phones and configurations). Perhaps 1% in 24 hours, I’d have to look at my stats.
May have a slight privacy impact, but given the overall data collection out there, probably unmeasurable. That said, I do turn mine off a lot for the same reason, I just don’t believe it really makes a difference
This post just reminded me to turn off my Bluetooth. I hope someone is able to provide an answer
I think the problem is going to be permissions. Unless you have root, I don’t think you’re going to be able to do that.
