The pandemic has not ended.
The pandemic keeps going, but we stopped taking any measures. Hence, why business activity being as low as during the time we had restrictions is an indication of deeper problems in the economy.
Pretty much, honestly while it may be a long slide down (or not) I expect this country to become the next Argentina in our lifetimes if shit doesn’t explode (pretty much necessary to save us from rentier-oligopolistan)
Indeed, I really can’t see how anything gets better going forward. Especially, given that we’re very likely headed for a major economic crisis in the west. Canada is nowhere close to being self sufficient in any regard.
It’s true, new job posting numbers suck too. Companies are just reposting the same position every 2 weeks if they don’t get who they want which pumps up the numbers.
Depressing time to be looking for a job.
A ton of the rejection emails I’ve gotten aren’t even about my lack of skill or experience or anything, they’re just like “oopsie, we already hired someone for that role :P” how long does it take to take down an ad online??? Our livelihoods are in these idiots’ hands.
