I find I’m fine so long as I don’t rub my face on the cat and wash my hands before touching my face.

It feels weird that I’m so heavily allergic to dust. Meanwhile I can nuzzle my face into dogs and cats. Immune systems are bizarre things.

I have three cats that I am apparently allergic to. People kept telling me to get rid of them.

I got rid of the people. Could not be happier.

i’m glad it worked for you! allergies in a human can change, but they very often only get worse. i’ve always liked cats and always been allergic. Actually I stopped liking cats when I found my adopted alley cat killing birds in my backyard. when I forced him to be an inside cat after like 5 times he’d killed birds he was the most miserable ass. because i wouldn’t let him outside to kill birds. i had to abruptly move away and left him to the neighbors.

i understand the sentiment. And I agree! I love kitties.

But house cats are not native to North America. If left alone, they are an invasive species. they should not be here.

you are absolutely right when kitties start to become a threat for other species but i don’t think fully domesticated indoor cats will cause any problem. they are just 🐱

This comic is so inaccurate. When you’re allergic to cats you develop a dislike for them, or at least want them to stay away. When I walk into a store and see a cat on the counter I cuss loudly and leave

I don’t understand this. How “allergic” are you? If I’m in the same room as a cat. I start to itch around my sock are, and neck. Within minutes my sock line is red and my neck looks like I got bad razor burn. Another couple minutes Ava my eyes are itchy and foggy, followed by the constant skin itching and discomfort. So there’s no way I could own a cat even if I wanted to, unless it’s one of those hairless weirdos that look cool

I made an anecdote, Commentator didn’t like it and said not everyone is like me,I reminded them that not everyone is like them either. We don’t have to agree, especially on shit like allergies which we don’t control. People on here just wanna fight

I see. There’s the disconnect. You offered both an anecdote and an objective statement. You called the comic inaccurate, as well as stating what happens as though it’s a universal experience. And then you offered an anecdote. The response was geared towards your first couple remarks, not the anecdote. They were snarky about it, but the sentiment is true. You were speaking for everyone, not just yourself. Your retort doesn’t make much sense because they weren’t doing the same thing.

I had cat allergies as a kid, but my first girlfriend in college had a cat, and after a week or two of waking up with eyes crusted shut every morning I just got over it. Glad I did because I love cats, toxoplasmosis notwithstanding.

I have cat allergies, but as long as I don’t touch my face after petting them I’m usually fine.

I don’t have any cats, but I do enjoy their company when I’m visiting someone who does have them.

I think you’re right honestly, I just still like the idea of cats. But I do see them as deadly bombs of ichy sneezy hell.
