I just think it’s funny that of the two examples Western anarchists love to bring up, one, the Zapatistas, refuses the anarchist label and the other, Rojava, is heavily supported by NATO/the US and looks nothing like the Western anarchist utopia either.
That’s not even a dig at Rojava, imo MLs are a bit quick to just reduce it to a “US proxy”. It’s just a dig at the idealist, detached and superficial nature of anarchist thought.
Yeah, anarchist utopianism is frustrating. So is the western obsession with ideology curation/collection. Like they want to frame their beliefs and put them up in a museum or wear them like a team jersey. But I find that to be more of a westerner/always-online thing than an anarchist-specific thing. The anarchists I know irl don’t sit around and talk about tankies all day
As long as Rojava can live in harmony with and wont oppose Bashars Syria then I give them my critical support aswell, but in general from principle as a marxist-leninist I don’t support groups funded and armed by the united states. Indeed vaushites point to Rojava as an example of NATO promoting socialism and make the leap from this to be pro-NATO and pro-US, the absolute troglodytes.
Oh god I hadn’t heard that argument before. I’ve avoided this particular Vaush saga until now. That’s… well, it’s evidence that Vaush is a fed asset at the very least
That’s not really on Rojava itself though, is it? Westoid libs love to appropriate anything vaguely revolutionary for their own purposes without any regard to the feelings of those they’re trying to appropriate.
Well, as long as they’re the underdog. If a socialist project isn’t sufficiently martyred, these libs will start sounding like state department spokespeople
Rojava is AES and Democratic Confederalism is synthesis cmv

Actually Rojava has transcended past socialism and is now a classless communist utopia.
LOL
In this moment I am euphoric
They must be very secure then.
Oh no
This must be the infallible logic of vaushites who see the USA and NATO as protectors and bringers of socialism.
Supporting Rojava makes me pro-NATO and pro-US? Holy shit what a leap. Please keep that sex pest’s name away from me
