“Just vote Dems one more election”

    “Just one more lane”

Just like more lanes, more dems don’t fix the underlying problem.

It doesn’t, but for me anyway, the implications of another Trump presidency or Republicans controlling both houses are terrifying.

People can live with some traffic or construction woes as we struggle for a better transportation system.

There are real differences between Republican and Democrat control that will have serious impacts on healthcare, climate change, and the courts, on top of the awful shit that both parties do.

I hate that I’m voting the way I am because I’m more scared of one candidate than the other, but each year is crucial for climate change, and 4 years of a gutted EPA is reeeeeeaaaaallllly bad.

And the Dems will not save us. They will not do what is necessary, ever, because they are funded by similar to even the same groups.

If the Dems will not and cannot save us, if we have a gaping bullet wound and all they can offer is a wet band-aid, then we must find another solution.

Sure, they’re not some savior, but they won’t gut the EPA, the might not replace Laila Khan, they won’t continue to fill the courts with extremely right-wing judges which will take decades to overcome, they might be able to replace Chevron deference with legislation, and they might be able to put some protections into place for abortion access and healthcare for trans people.

            Why not?

they won’t continue to fill the courts with extremely right-wing judges which will take decades to overcome

            Already do

they might be able to replace Chevron deference with legislation

            Why?

and they might be able to put some protections into place for abortion access and healthcare for trans people

            They haven’t, though.

The Dems are not good people in a hard place, they’re servants of Capital, same as the GOP.

Don’t know how it’s not obvious that they won’t gut the EPA. The Biden administration added a ton of funding to the EPA for climate action. It’s a priority for them.

Come on man, if you can’t tell the difference between judges appointed under Democrats vs those under Republicans, I don’t know how to show you. Looking at the supreme court voting record is a pretty clear sign there. John Oliver just did a piece on this last night that is worth checking out.

There are already bills that are getting support from lots of Democrats in the House and Senate to provide similar protections that Chevron deference gave. I say “might” because of course this is only going to happen with strong Democrat control of both the House and the Senate.

Similar to Chevron deference, bills have been brought forward that have broad support among Democrats for trans healthcare and abortion access.

Democrats, like you said, are not saviors. They at-best react to Republicans and Republican-appointed judges doing evil shit when they are in power, or providing “solutions” that barely scratch the surface of the work/funding needed. Democrats have not had the political power to push these bills through since the Republicans did the evil shit they are reacting to. It’s pretty disingenuous to blame them for these bills not passing in the system we have.

Of course, it’s Election time, after all. Do you really think any measures introduced by Dems are in any way adequate?

Similar to Chevron deference, bills have been brought forward that have broad support among Democrats for trans healthcare and abortion access.

I blame them for being the other half of the uniparty of the genocidal US Empire. The Dems have plenty of political power, their game is to act like saviors that just need your votes to save you this time, every time, as the US Empire sundowns.

Our voting system is first past the post which means there are only two political parties, Republican or Democrat. If you happen to like the Republican or Democrat congratulations you get to actually vote for someone. For the rest of us our only option is voting against someone. If you hate the Republican more vote Democrat. If you hate the Democrat more vote Republican. If you don’t actually care whether the Democrat or Republican wins you can abstain by either staying home or voting 3rd party, the outcome is identical either way.

If you don’t like this there is exactly one solution and that’s supporting efforts to get rid of first past the post voting, anything else is useless.

If the Dems will not and cannot save us, if we have a gaping bullet wound and all they can offer is a wet band-aid, then we must find another solution.

Our voting system is first past the post which means there are only two political parties, Republican or Democrat.

            Wrong.

If you happen to like the Republican or Democrat congratulations you get to actually vote for someone.

You’d also be a genocidal demon.

For the rest of us our only option is voting against someone.

Yep, hence why it’s important to vote for Greens or PSL.

If you hate the Republican more vote Democrat. If you hate the Democrat more vote Republican.

            Neither are acceptable for Humanity.

If you don’t actually care whether the Democrat or Republican wins you can abstain by either staying home or voting 3rd party, the outcome is identical either way.

Liberals will work themselves into logical fallacies in order to justify their own votes for genocidal regimes.

If you don’t like this there is exactly one solution and that’s supporting efforts to get rid of first past the post voting, anything else is useless.

I agree, we need a revolution. Electoralism is useless.

Gotcha so you’re abstaining this election. That’s fine and your choice not to vote, but it also means you don’t get to complain if Trump wins (or Harris for that matter).

As long as we have first past the post, we will never have a 3rd party candidate win.

And you’ll be dead in the same amount of time.

If you honestly believe Harris would do as much damage to this country as Trump would, you’re either one of the dumbest people I’ve ever met and there’s nothing more to say, or you just woke up from a coma that started in 2016 and haven’t caught up on anything that happened since then.

Are the Russian Trolls in the room with us? Probably…

If you don’t like the FPTP voting, do something about that. If you don’t like voting for the lesser of two evils, do something about it besides waiting until that is the only choice.

            • Fact 1: Right now, your only choice is to vote for the lesser of the two evils, unless you want to help the worse of two evils.
            • Fact 2: Harris is, by a very large margin, the lesser of the two evils.
            • Fact 3: Your ‘messaging’ is helping Trump

Do with the facts what you will, but know that the messaging of “the Russian trolls” is to do anything possible to diminish support for Harris either directly or indirectly. Like it or not, you are “on message” with those who would choose to see Trump win.

The “lesser evils” are the Greens and PSL, neither is perfect but both are miles ahead of the current genocidal regime and the other genocidal party. Genocide is a red line. As well as that, I advocate for joining Leftist parties like PSL and FRSO, organizing outside the electoral system.

              • Fact 1: Right now, your only choice is to vote for the lesser of the two evils, unless you want to help the worse of two evils.

They are both unacceptable evil, period. They both support genocide, and they both are gearing up for WW3 with the PRC, and neither is doing what needs to be done for Climate Change. The only peaceful method of saving humanity is pushing repeatedly for the 1% chance of a third party winning, otherwise revolution is necessary anyways.

              • Fact 2: Harris is, by a very large margin, the lesser of the two evils.

Fucking lmao. No, she isn’t, she’s just a more likeable face of Empire.

              • Fact 3: Your ‘messaging’ is helping Trump

No it isn’t, Harris’ dedication to genocide, Imperialism, and failure to meaningfully manage climate change is helping Trump. Your messaging is helping genocide and Imperialism.

Do with the facts what you will, but know that the messaging of “the Russian trolls” is to do anything possible to diminish support for Harris either directly or indirectly. Like it or not, you are “on message” with those who would choose to see Trump win.

I have started long before, as have other Leftists. Liberals will fight to the death to defend the status quo, to the point of supporting genocide and imperialism.

I’ll sleep tight knowing I did what Muslim-Americans and Palestinians advocated for me to do, refuse to side with genocide and imperialism. Harris will be personally responsible for campaigning on genocide and imperialism, and World War 3, and refusing to address climate change. You will be personally responsible for her campaigning on that platform instead of trying to force her hand.
