Also Ardour in the same category
Done!
Just added an ‘Audio Workstation Software’ section with LMMS in it - thanks for the recommendation!
To be fair, the Audio Editing and Audio Workstation mix a lot. I personally use Ardour to do everything I could with Audacity. Audio recording and editing.
I’ll collapse the ‘Audio Editing’ category into the ‘Audio Workstation’ one.
Small recommendation to move DarkTable to a different subheading called “RAW Processing” and add RawTherapee to it. Both are great Lightroom alternatives.
Done!
Thanks
No worries, thanks for the suggestion.
Audacity? I thought this software was banned after they were bought by Muse and added tellemetry
I’m sorry, I’m not sure that I know what you’re referring to; could you elaborate? Also, what do you mean by ‘banned’?
It was some months ago, Audacity added telemetry and everyone saw it because the code is open source. So people abandoned audacity in favor of forks of it without telemetry, namely Audacium
If you are, now, opted-out by default, is there any point in having such a service?
A couple of months back there was a huge fuss about Audacity adding telemetry to the program. There were a couple of forks spawned from it and after the backlash they went back on it.
Banned is harsh way of saying they didn’t expect it to be recommended.
It states in their GitHub that ‘Telemetry is strictly optional and disabled by default. No data is shared unless you choose to opt-in and enable telemetry.’ so, unless I am missing something, I don’t think I have a problem recommending it.
Yeah, that’s the way they went back on it. Originally it was going to be opt-out instead of opt-in.
Ahhh, I understand. Thanks for the context.
