“People are born selfish which is why we should go with the system that incentivizes maximizing selfishness” is such an insane argument even if the presumption were true.
Indeed, if the selfish human nature argument was true, then capitalism would be akin to taking an alcoholic to a bar.
Right? If communism were already in place, then appealing to selfishness would be a reason to keep it in place. 99% of people would be worse off moving from communism to capitalism, so being communist is the best for virtually every person.
