Other people at the gym meticulously crafting their protein intake
Me: gimme that n u t

Mostly fat so you gotta buy the defatted flour (which still has quite a lot compared to TVP)

the beanis and its friends are simply incapable of stopping their winning streak
also, “pinto” means dick in my language
Where is just regular soybeans or soy protein? I can’t be the only sicko who eats soy curls and makes patties and meatballs out of wheat gluten
This is seitan erasure.
Do they make textured defatted peanut flour products
edit:
Peanut-based TVP is produced in China where peanut oil is a popular cooking oil. (Wikipedia)
I need to go to China
edit 2:
dead link and I can’t find any other sources
edit 3:
does anyone want to buy an extruder with me
Never tried peanut flour but PB2 is like the only vegan protein powder brand that is actually good
peanut tvp is good stuff
You’ve had it before?!
in china yeah. i bought a big back on taobao once and used it for ages. tasted pretty much the same as soy based, but i support all peanut-based products.
Eating whole wheat PBJ sandwich
Im sorry, but it probably has dangerous seed oils, I need to down a pint of raw bird flu milk now

nice
Granted it’s verging on toxicly masculine but I’ve taken to challenging people who say they need to eat meat “for the protein” to an arm wrestle and I have not lost yet
im pretty sure whey is generally cheaper in terms of workout powders, but yeah, most people that care for the protein just want it to be not vomit inducing and cheap as possible
im personally not like a next level athlete or anything. peanutbutter is fine for making my ass fat and muscular at the same time. i usually get the 100% peanutbutter kind what has no additives and skim the oils off for curries.
I’m surprised peanuts are that high in protein, but the rest of the peanut is fat so it’s too calorie dense to use for protein goals if you eat badly otherwise.
I usually use g of protein/calorie to evaluate workout/diet food, while trying to keep relatively low cost.
Tofu/soymilk has been pretty good to me, but it’s hard to hit protein goals vegan without supplement. Vegan protein powders function fine even though I use brown-rice protein which is terrible-tasting. I prefer soy protein powder, but I eat too much soy otherwise and want to balance my amino acids because I heard that’s good to do.
(Maybe) stupid question about chia seeds: I read that they can have a high load of heavy metals and that you should not eat too much of em. How much is okay?
unfortunately that is the case for pretty much everything, no amount of lead is ok though
