We like Lula, not Bolsonaro or Trump. It’s such a suspiciuous coincidence that all liberals don’t know how to read.

By the the way, did you know in Argentina leftists call right wingers liberals? It’s funny how our right wing is your left wing.

        We, left-wingers, like Lula.

Right wingers aren’t liberal and never will be, even though they’ve tried to steal that term many many times. From leaders like Lula actually. I’m pretty sure he can read.

It is funny that tankies are like reactionary right wingers, just pretending not to be

(or maybe think they aren’t 🤔)

Remember not to make assumptions of others! I don’t label you as any of the mentioned, even though I do sense the hostile tone :)

Liberalism, being inextricably intertwined with capitalism, is a right-wing ideology. Tankies are often on the wrong side of the issue, but that’s because, like fascists and conservatives, they are reactionaries. Tankies take the side of certain established powers because those powers advertise themselves as resistance to liberal capitalism, without realizing or caring that fascists are manipulating their support. Actual leftists care first and foremost about harm reduction.

Capitalism is inherently authoritarian and hierarchical, thus the antithesis of liberal.

The term has seen hijack attempts with economic “liberalism” and neo-“liberalism”.

Otherwise on point. Thank you for the excellent addition.

Liberalism generated the concept of ‘laissez-faire’, which is the basis of modern capitalist thought. While liberal philosophy is greatly concerned with the concept of rights, it is not at all concerned with the concepts of equity or moderation, both of which must be addressed in order to challenge capitalism. You seem to have a misinformed view of what the ideology entails.

No I do not. I just give more value to it’s essence and not the bastardizations it has been tried to associate with to benefit the power structures.

                    That was already debunked.

Capitalism is a separate concept, trying to abuse liberalism. Free markets, economic “liberalism” are just marketing, leading to inverse effects, limiting/stifling/lessening freedom/liberty/liberalism.

There is no liberty or equality as they are known in liberalism under the hierarchy of capital. Poor people aren’t at liberty or free. Not even high income workers. Only those who own the lower classes have the power to be free.

Did you just read what I wrote? In the West, liberals are left wing, here, in the Global South we use that term as a pejorative to mean the right. Specifically in Argentina we have many left wing groups, not just “tankies” who agree. Peronists, Kirchnerists, Trotkyists, Anarchists, and also Communists. What happens is that what the West think is the left, in the Global South, is the right. It’s not that the right wants to steal that term, is that liberalism is the right. Simply because you never have had anything better over there doesn’t mean there isn’t. You cannot change this, it is not debatable because it is our reality. Don’t try to explain to me what my reality looks like.

P.S.: Lula doesn’t like you, in case you didn’t notice, do you think he cares about the West or he chooses to remain friends with our brothers? Look what Lula thinks of tankies, and see how reality aligns with whatever fantasy your Empire makes you believe. https://twitter.com/upholdreality/status/1674836827587444736
