I opened an instance for Turkey/Turkish content. I’m currently only partially able to access federated content. Posts, comments, upvotes are either partially missing or not coming at all. What can I do about it?

If I increase the server specs, is there a chance of improvement or is it a general situation?

!lemmy_support@lemmy.ml is the better community for server operators.

That said, right now Lemmy network is very unstable. Comments, posts, votes are not replicating reliably from any of the big servers. The platform isn’t scaling.

I think right now all the major lemmy instances are getting hit so hard from everyone leaving reddit, so everyone is having some issues with performance.

Upgrade to 0.18.1 once it is released ^^
It included some changes which should make the federation much smoother.

Also, keep in mind that just the content of communities someone from your instance has subscribed to is also sent to your instance

Pretty much how it is right now. Its hit or miss getting federated posts from the big boys

Sorry but it’s completely ridiculous that Lemmy was designed to allow for this…? Is data just allowed to be dropped with no fallback? Did they just go full UDP on their sync protocol?

i’d assume that it’ll slowly get better overtime either through instances eventually syncing with each other or lemmy updating to improve the accuracy of federation
