The amount of libertarian ideology present in FOSS is shocking
Copyleft licenses are a threat to sue someone if they use your ideas in a way that you don’t approve of, and is inherently fascist. This option guarantees that the author can sue anyone that uses the author’s work in any form of propriety, and optimizes for “free” software.
What’s more “fascist” than suing multimillion-dollar companies from taking advantage of free labor and privatizing the commons /s
Permissive licenses are inherently anarchistic, which allows for a community fueled by ideas rather than another walled garden. This option guarantees that anyone can use the author’s ideas, without any sort of discrimination, and optimizes for a free public.
This is the kind of naive idealism that has to be completely ignorant of the history of companies subverting foss, to prove its point. queue anarchists calling stallman a tankie in a few comments.
The comments you highlighted were some of the most bizarre things argued in the whole thread. Apparently copyleft just isn’t permissive enough for some people. Your counters are good!

Some history on Microsoft specifically, and specifically the EEE strategy:
Stallman also has a lot of great articles on why the GPL is necessary, and the history of copyright being used to squash innovation.

I’m busy right now, did you try to look them up on your own?

Tonight I learned that copyright licences don’t have this problem. Good to know.
Anarchists live in some kind of perpetual hallucination caused by individualism.
