To get push notification, something needs to ping the server now and then in order to check if there’s any update to push you. This is why Apollo ultra had a cost to it. I’d imagine eventually the self hosted version of wefwef can get push… public instance not so sure.

ETA so far wefwef.app feels like a great Apollo clone. No push notifications on iOS (yet?) but I added it to my Home Screen and it’s great.

We have push notifications for Memmy! wefwef is quite nice though, i have it installed too
