Another reason to hate cryptobros, it was OK to donate monero pre 2020 now its just out of the question, to be honest, if I was moz I would just accept crypto but don’t make an announcement, you don’t need to have backlash for accepting donations.
Mozilla never accepted Monero, they use Bitcoin which is not even privacy friendly, they used what the mainstream used instead of privacy friendly or more environment friendly alternatives. If you make millions of dollars each year, the community and others usually expect that you invent or use your own systems instead of imitating others and using what they use. Bitcoin was not even meant to be entirely anonymous or environment friendly, Mozilla failed doing research on such topics.
Using Monero is still fine btw. Mining in general is the underlying with every crypto.
