This might be an unpopular opinion but I feel like public parks should have less parking or smaller parking lots. Having a big lot destroys the very nature people are coming to enjoy. I’ve also noticed it leads to people just driving to the park and not even getting out of their cars. I’ve seen so many people just eating lunch in their cars by themselves, it’s so sad.
The ideal solution is to have more parks. When there’s many parking lots there will many people too. Sometimes even crowded.

It’s a careful balance. I’ve seen parks where the locals can’t find a spot because the park is crowded from people coming by cars. Just a little sane planning is all I ask.

I’d rather have more local parks where people can go by foot, than one large park where people need to drive.
Also, I wouldn’t count overcrowded parks as a success.

@DLSchichtl @bstix The lack of parks is caused mostly by the enormous waste of space on parking. Convert half the parking spaces to parks and there’s no problem with either quantity or access.
