I’m fucking thankful everyday that I wasn’t born in the dystopian countries
I feel bad for the people who live in them (excluding the ones who knowingly & willingly make those countries a dystopia)
Our countries are also dystopian. It’s just not in the “I’m deprived of legal rights” sense, yet
Where do you live? I live in the US where people are deprived of rights to bodily autonomy, gender affirming health care, and regularly brutalized or murdered by the state. In most western states, not deprived of legal rights might say more about you than the state
The corporate dystopia is coming don’t worry.
Also couple of months ago: “UN picks Saudi Arabia to lead women’s rights forum despite ‘abysmal’ record”
That was so insane to me. How much crack do they smoke in the UN HQ?
So, the empire has turned its back against saudi arabia?
the empire probably caused it tbh
[thunderous laughter]
was arrested under anti-terror laws
Lol. This is why we shouldn’t use general words like “terrorism.” Let’s always talk about specifics.
What’s with the scare quotes around “support”?
That’s what the sentencing court called it I guess. She was arrested on terrorism charges for her clothing and for promoting women’s rights on her social media, along with two female relatives, so the quotes are to show that it was not material or militant support, but expression of her views.
Sometimes quotes are just quotes
