Yeah, they were hinging upon the populace being totally cool with a genocide, but they forget that 90% of their nastiest propaganda against their enemies is accusing them of committing genocides, so the people are still quite opposed to the idea. Their own manipulation of information has worked against them.
Dem leadership underestimates how much empathy people have, they have zero so how could they imagine people would care about the thousands of deaths?
