      GPDR.

      They have to be explicit because before they were implicit and selling your cookie data all over the place. So legislation says you have to be explicit about your policy and usage.

      Too many sites still use cookies in a way that’s not necessary though and I’m looking forward to the de-cookification for a lot of things.

        Thing is, they could have just mandated that each site has a .cookies.yaml file, and it’s up to the browser to standardize an implementation to present it to the user.

        Every site implementing their own cookie banner is just nuts.
