I know what you mean but I’m speaking about war (the fighting) as opposed to the genocide. It would feel weird to me to use “Gaza war” at other sites and a different term here.

Yup. Though sometimes they do the opposite and waive away any historical context or complexity because actually it’s simple, stupid.
Please don’t adopt their framing of this concentration camp genocide as a “war”.
