Meat consumption in some countries has been dropping in a number of countries in part because of growing awareness of its environmental impact

Well there’s that one popular video on youtube that “it’s not meat”, I’ve been somewhat sceptical of it recently.

What do you think of it? Or more importantly, could you hook me up with some resources (if you have them)? I’m willing to learn.

Are you talking about the “why eating meat won’t save the planet” video? If so, that video is horribly misleading at best or complete disinformation at worst. Here’s a video looking at it in depth

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkMOQ9X76UU

For an idea, one of the studies they use to claim that it wouldn’t reduce emissions much assumes that if we switch to plant-based diets we’d still produce 100% of the animal feed we do and be eating over 4700 kcal/day for some reason. Despite that insane assumption, it still finds a reduction of global emissions which really says a lot about just how inefficient the industry is. Further, this study has a number of responses from other scientists basically saying “wtf” (but academic and detailed) which is not something you typically see for the vast majority of studies
