Yeah, if my future is 'eternity of unemployment and substandard housing if any’, I probably would start seeing few reasons to not go full Joker.
The transfer of housing from end users (or even “mom & pop” landlords) to institutional investors results in communities being reduced into yield generating assets. As a consequence, prioritization of wealth extraction occurs without regard for long-term sustainability, leaving communities vulnerable to shock.
Why are “mom & pop” landlords excluded? They are by far the worst. Greedy, anonymous, capricious, deluded fucks. I’ll take an “institutional” landlord with a reputation to uphold any time.
