Well, I was hoping that indicating the unseriousness of my message with the “🙃” emoji would suffice to make even people, who deem “junkie” an insult, realize that it was at most said tongue-in-cheek.
And I do not consider these habits undesirable in other people, obviously so long as no one is brought in danger by drunk driving or such. They just don’t align with my own personal vision for my own life.
If I need to write any more legalese to justify a stupid one-liner, I will lose my fucking mind. We’re literally in a community for jokes.
Calling someone a junkie is an insult. You are using the term wrong if you think it is not a pejorative. Looking at your comments, you absolutely do look down on casual imbibers, you just don’t think you do. It’s “I’m not racist, but…” kind of thinking.
Yes, when other people use the word “junkie”, it is often said as an insult. Which is why I followed it up with “🙃”. But ultimately, my intent was not toxic, was my point.
And well, it’s cool that you can read so much into my psychology from a handful of comments, but I’m not sure why I should care. Talk to me for half an hour about nihilism, then I might care about your judgement.
I don’t know any, to be honest. If you’re not just enjoying the hot beverage, flavor or even the effects of the caffeine, but rather you’re dependent on it – as in, you fall into a bleak mood, if you can’t have it – then yeah, I would categorize that as the same.
I mean, so long as your dependence doesn’t negatively affect your or other people’s lives, I don’t really care. Personally, I just detest the thought of being dependent on specific substances.
As a comsumer of none, you all look like junkies to me (including the cigarette/vape and coffee people). 🙃
I’m sure everyone is very impressed.
Never in my life has someone been impressed by that. They always just feel personally attacked, for no good reason.
Maybe the reason here is that you implied that anyone with habits you personally consider to be undesirable are junkies?

Hey, you don’t have to do anything. Just don’t be surprised if people call you out for condescending language.
Is there a world where “junkie” is not an insult?
Yes, my world. Why is it bad to take drugs? There’s no moral imperative that makes it so.
Now you’re backpedaling and trying to describe a drug user, not a junkie
Okay.
Now look here, when you write such a toxic statement you have to spell everything right, including consumer otherwise you really just look stupid.
You’re the one interpreting “junkie” or “addict” as an insult. I did not intend for it to be toxic, so I’ll typo all day long, tgank tou veey muxh.

Half my message was specifically written to say that I don’t do this. People look like drug addicts to me. And I’m not looking down on drug addicts.
Yes, I’m not a fan of that either. Doesn’t mean, I can change it.

Yes, I did not say so.
Coffee withdrawal for many people includes vicious headaches, aside from the everyday uselessness of addicts before their first cup each day
