I’ve started noticing this icon more and more: usually on comments with no downvotes. What’s it mean?

Yeah, looking at things a bit more it seems they rearranged how votes are displayed.

Instead of a cumulative total at the top, then individual up/down totals at the bottom; they just show the cumulative total with the downvotes next to it at the top.

I could have sworn I had still seen total upvotes at the bottom still, but I’m not seeing them now.

We’ve changed this now to show the score, and upvote percentage. In the future tho, I’ve added full vote display mode settings to the lemmy back-end, that allows for more fine grained, per account settings.

So it’d show something like, for example: “21 (%50)” for a post that has 42 up votes and 21 downvotes?

Gotta be honest I much preferred the individual vote totals directly beside the buttons. Glad there’ll be options.

      /edit; math.

Yep, the new update has the top line. Your bottom line will come much letter.

I really really hate this change.

Is there 20k people on the fence, or just one person that disagrees… You can’t tell anymore.

Hey, let’s test it out: I will immediately downvote this comment. Everyone else should down vote it, too. Let’s see how far we can push the counter down…
