I really don’t care if something is not perfect in my own home when I sit down to watch a movie.

I remind myself that anything I do in my own home entertainment system is far more convenient than going to a movie theatre.

I can forget a bunch of stuff, hit pause, go get the things I forgot, maybe get more popcorn, more drinks, maybe some chocolate cake, make a bacon sandwich, go to the bathroom, turn on the lights, turn off the lights, check my phone, eat some cake, then unpause my movie. Then ten minutes later, do it again if I felt like it.

I can’t do any of this in a public theatre. Not only that, I would pay a premium to be at a theatre and not have the same freedom. It costs about $50 $60 Canadian now for two people to see a movie. And we would end up eating out which is another $20 $30 and budget about five hours running around to watch an hour and half long movie. So it almost end up being about $100 and hours of our day to see one movie.

I can spend $5 in a digital rental and watch it on my 52" wide screen with just me and my wife and all the comforts of home instead. And if we got too tired or bored of it, we can just turn it off go to bed and watch the rest the next day.

And the drinks. And you need to go to the bathroom. And you got a text message. And you forgot to turn off the light in the kitchen.

What? Why are people still using remotes? Let me guess u use a ‘smart tv’ or what?

Dude just fucking connet your desktop to the TV/beamer and then use KDE-Connect to remote your PC.

Never connect your Display device to the internet, or even worse watch normal TV. Both could make u see ads, one of them will 100% spy on you.
