now I can’t even browse reddit since there is a never ending stream of posts and comments on lemmy ^^

I could browse lemmy all day, I still need to find some kind of lemmy browsing/life balance xD

    Same here. I unsubbed most of the “time waster” subreddits and kept only the niche communities that aren’t established anywhere else yet. I’m checking out mastodon next

      Good luck! Mastodon has been a dream community for me. I haven’t yet made any persistent friends, but engaging with people’s toots has been awesome.

        It’s not just Mastodon, there are instances that don’t use the software. Akkoma and *key are gaining ground.

        For me it’s the deahcore community. And same thing there with band members regularly dropping by to interact with the community
